The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Welcome back to the work week folks!

Well now that the holidays have kicked off, it’s time to talk about the oldest of holiday traditions: movies. Historically, the months of November and December have delivered some of the best and most successful movies of the year. The trend continues this year with The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The sequel to the blockbuster smash The Hunger Games is a wonderful movie. In fact, it’s the first adaption I’ve seen in a while that feels like a self contained story. Anyone who hasn’t read the book will understand the story. (But seriously, read the book. It’s good!)

It’s hard to describe, but there is something so special about the movie. I was riveted to my seat. I think this has a lot to do with Jennifer Lawrence. The Oscar-winning actress truly embodies the character of Katniss. I couldn’t imagine anyone else playing the part.

I’m not sure what to expect with Mockingjay. I wasn’t super impressed with the book, but the screenwriters seem to know what they are doing, so I will reserve my judgement. Until next time, may the odds be ever in your favor.
