Dec/Jan NaNoWriMo 2014 Day 5: The Power of Perseverance

Hey guys!

So remember how yesterday I said that I was going to catch up with my word count? Yeah, that didn’t happen. I wasn’t feeling that well today, but I did manage to write 1, 203 words despite feeling under the weather, so yeah. Go me!

Anyway, here is how things are looking right now in my little NaNoWriMo adventure.

Word Count Goal: 10,002

Words Written: 9,149

Things have been a little crazy because of the holidays, but I plan on definitely catching up next week when things whine down. I mean it this time. I promise. Really. I do. I WILL CATCH UP TO MY WORD COUNT NEXT WEEK! HEAR THAT FUTURE BRITTANY????!!!!

Okay, enough of that silliness. For this post, I want to talk about perseverance. Sometimes, it is tough to power through, especially when you are under the weather, but you have to keep writing. You have to get those words down no matter what. J.K. Rowling did it when she was on welfare. Colleen Hoover did it while raising a family and working a full time job. If they can do it, you can do it. I have to remind myself of this sometimes. I really, really want this. I want to be a successful published author and in order for this to happen, I need to work extremely hard. I am willing to do that. Writing seems hard when you do it, but when it’s over, it was worth it in the end.

So keep writing, keep getting those words down and keep dreaming. Never give up. You’ll make it in the end.

That’s it for now. Tomorrow, I will be back with another update. I don’t know if I will reach my word count goal, but I will sure as hell try.
