It’s the last day of 2014, and I am here to give you an update on my Dec/Jan NaNoWriMo adventure. Here are the stats:
Word Count Goal: 16,670
Words Written: 19,955
I cannot believe that I started writing this book a little over a week ago and I am nearly 20,000 words into it. I didn’t think I would be able to keep up a good routine. I mean, I always hear people struggle during NaNoWriMo, so I am very surprised with myself that I have been diligent in carving out time in my day to write. I am really enjoying my story so far and cannot wait to continue writing.
Since it is the end of the year, I thought I would make some reading and writing resolutions for 2015. When it comes to reading, I want to venture deeper into the world of contemporary novels, particularly New Adult. I am a huge fantasy and science fiction fan and while I definitely intend to continue reading that genre, I want to expand my reading horizons and read at least five contemporary novels in 2015. I also want to read more biographies and comics in the new year.
As for writing, I intend to publish my first novel, Metallic Heaven this year and possible my second depending on how quickly I finish it. If time permits, I would like to begin writing my third novel, which is a fantasy story I have been looking forward to writing for so long. Also, I am going to do my best to participate in an official NaNoWriMo competition in 2015, whether it be Camp NaNoWriMo or the November NaNoWriMo.
I also thought I would include a list of the top five favorite books I read in 2014.
5. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
4.October Sky by Homer Hickman
3. The House of Hades (Book 4 of the Heroes of Olympus Series) by Rick Riordan
2. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
1. Cress (Book 3 of the Lunar Chronicles) by Marissa Meyer
Slammed by Colleen Hoover
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
Shoeless Joe by W.P. Kinsella
So that’s it for this post guys. I hope you had a wonderful 2014 and I just want to thank everyone who is following my blog. I really appreciate it and I promise I will be updating regularly in 2015.
Until next time guys kill your darlings, slay your dragons, keep writing and reading.
