NaNoWriMo 2015 Day 1- It Has Begun

Hey guys! So the first day of NaNoWriMo is drawing to a close and I am happy to say that I surpassed the daily word count of 1,667 words. As of now, I have written 2,821! Yay! That’s 1,154 words over the word count. It’s a nice cushion for the tough days to come. I have really enjoyed checking the progress of my writing buddies (some of you are slackers. Kidding! Ha ha) and participating in discussions. This upcoming week is pretty open for me. I don’t work until the afternoon, so I have time to write in the mornings. That may change of course, but as of now, the week to come looks perfect for writing a science fiction story.

I am going to try and do one of these posts every day. I will probably write them late at night because that is when I type the words I have written for the day. Writing in a notebook is an archaic system, but it’s one that I enjoy. For some reason, I think better when I hand write something. That’s why it takes me a little while to update my word count.

Aside from word count updates, I will fill these posts with NaNoWriMo facts, writing advice and other fun tidbits to keep you entered in the long month ahead. I hope everyone had a great Halloween and an even better first day of NaNoWriMo. Take a deep breath. Sit back and relax. We got some words down. Now we just have to keep this up for 29 more days. It’s not small task, but it can be done.

Kill your darlings, slay your dragons and keep writing! I will see you tomorrow.

Check out my NaNoWriMo profile page and be my writing buddy!
