Moving On

So as many of you know, I have been working on a science fiction novel entitled Metallic Heaven for about two years now. Last month, I posted an update on the novel, saying that I was thinking about serializing it. Now however, after much deliberation, I have decided to cancel the product all together. It just isn’t working. Metallic Heaven was initially conceived as a short story. In my quest to expand it into a novel, I lost the core points of the story. It has swelled into a mess of story lines without a coherent thread. I have done everything in my power to make the story work, but it doesn’t and I do not want to put something out unless I am happy with it.

Instead, I am going to focus my time and energy on a new novel. This one is a New Adult sports romance. It flows much better than Metallic Heaven and I have a much tighter grip on the story. For those of you who contributed to my Kickstarter campaign for MH, I have posted an update where I detail what happens next. You can check it out here.

Cancelling this novel is tough for me. I don’t want to let it go, but I know, deep down, that I can’t get it to work. Maybe I will revisit it at some other time, but for now, it’s time for me to move onto something different.
