So it’s been a long time since I posted. I can blame that on work. Ever since I got a full time job, it’s been difficult for me to find time to do anything for fun. So I had to make a decision to prioritize writing my novel in the little free time I have.
NaNoWriMo ended on Wednesday and I lost, falling six thousand words short of the fifty thousand word goal. It didn’t get a chance to write every day, but when I did, I was able to get a lot done. I may have lost NaNoWriMo, but I’m certainly not down about it. My novel is coming along well and if it takes me a little longer to complete than usual, then so be it.
In a post I titled “Moving On,” I announced that I was putting aside my long gestating sci-fi novel Metallic Heaven and working on a New Adult sports romance. I want to keep the details of the project close to my chest for now, but I’m feeling great about it. I’m less creatively stifled and I have real confidence in this story’s ability to get published. I’m still in the early stages right now (I’m only a few chapters into the second act), but I am proud of my progress.
Anyway, I wanted to post this update to let you guys know that I am still here and that I will try to post more often. However, until winter break comes, my priority is novel writing. Still, there are so many exciting things coming up (Star Wars), that I’m sure I’ll find a lot to write about.
In the meantime, kill your darlings, slay your dragons and keep writing!
