Hello everyone and Happy Halloween!
Well, it’s been a while. Over two months to be exact. I didn’t intend to take such a long break from blogging, but life caught up to me in a bad way. Work and stress have been out of control, leaving me with very little motivation to write. However, I have managed to solider through and carve words onto the page. But those words weren’t great and I once again am still mired in the swamp that is Act I of Draft Three of my novel. Without a proper setup, I cannot march into Act II feeling confident.
So I have taken the time to revamp Act I. I created scene cards to keep the characters motivations in check and to make sure that I am not waxing on about plot points that go nowhere. I have started a new chapter 1 that I am very happy with, but have had a difficult time in finishing that chapter. This is mainly due to work and my fluctuating mental state. Despite that however, I have made a promise to myself that, by hook or by crook, I will have Draft Three done by the end of the year. In order to accomplish that, I have decided to participate in NaNoWriMo.
NaNoWriMo is short for National Novel Writing Month and takes place during November. Though the traditional NaNoWriMo goal is to write 50,000 words, I am going to focus on simply completing as much of my novel as possible. I have the first week of November off from work, so I am planning on finishing Act I by the time I return on November 8th.
To help keep myself accountable, not only will I blog my progress every day, I will also vlog my experience on my YouTube channel. I am planning on using this to help build my platform.

I hope you are all making great progress on your writing projects.
Until next time, kill your darlings, slay your dragons, and keep writing!
