NaNoWriMo 2021: Days 5 and 6 Update

Hello everyone! I hope you have had a great weekend. I am struggling with the Sunday Blue or Sunday Scaries. I am a teacher and have been off for the past week. Dreading going back. So I am going to try and enjoy every bit of the remaining vacation time I have left.

Anyway, today is Sunday, November 7th, day seven of NaNoWriMo. I didn’t post an update yesterday because I was a bit busy taking care of work related things. And to be honest, I didn’t get a whole lot of writing done. I did add 839 words to the first chapter, which pushed the overall word count to around 4k words. So I decided to split chapter 1 in half. The over flow will start chapter 2. I can always play with chapter beginnings and endings later, but I like the way it is right now.

Even though I didn’t get as much done this week as I would have like to (which always seems to be the case), I did finally find my way out of the quagmire that was chapter 1. Now that I traversed that rough terrain, I can continue with the rest of Act 1. I am still aiming for an end date of December 31, 2021 for Draft 3. We’ll see how that goes. Writing will be a little slower this week because I am returning to work and usually, by the time I get home, I am drained and can only force out a few hundred words before I lose interest.

As of now, I am at 6836 words for NaNoWriMo, but as I stated before, word count is not my focus this time around.

Until next time, kill your darlings, slay your dragons, and keep writing.
