Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a great Halloween on Sunday!

Yesterday was Monday, November 1st, the first day of NaNoWriMo. As I stated in my previous post, I am using NaNoWriMo as a way to help me finish the third draft of my novel by the end of the year.

I started work on Chapter 1, which I have struggled with for a long time. Setup is extremely important, and as a writer, you want to make sure you get it right. If you don’t, you’ll have problems further on in your story. So I wanted to take the time to try and get it right. Yesterday, I managed to write, 1958 words. The chapter ended up being shorter than I expected which made me question if I was really done with it. I think I may take another pass at the chapter today, before moving on to Chapter 2.

It usually takes me longer to determine my word count, because I like to handwrite my story before I type it. For some reason, I think better when I am actually putting pen to paper. It helps me flesh out my ideas.

Until next time, kill your darlings, slay your dragons, and keep writing.
