I’ve always been a fan of “musical moments” in movies. You know, when the main characters gets their friends together and burst into a chorus of a popular song (or a song written exclusively for the soundtrack). They are usually fun and memorable. Think “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin'” from Top Gun or “Danke Schoen” from Ferris Buller’s Day Off. I’ve always wanted to have a musical moment of my own in my novel.
When I heard “December 1963 (Oh What A Night),” I knew it would be perfect for a specific scene in my novel. I wanted a song that was fun, but that also had bearing on the plot. I’ve always been a fan of the Four Seasons–partially because they are from New Jersey–but mainly due to their chords and catchy songs.
I plan on using this song as a way for the two protagonists to bond and to celebrate their victory. It marks a high point in the novel. I hope that, one day, you guys will be able to read this scene and crack a smile.
I almost thought you were talking about Vivaldi lol!!
